For more than a decade, Jonathan’s Place has been taking care of the Dallas area’s youngest victims of abuse. Jonathan’s Place provides this care through two programs – a “home-style” emergency shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children and a Foster & Adoptive Family Program. The emergency shelter provides specialized services and 24-hour residential care to children age newborn to 17 years and is the only emergency shelter in Dallas County that provides residential services for children in crisis under the age of 10.
In the Foster & Adoptive Family Program, Jonathan’s Place recruits potential families for foster care and adoption, conducts a comprehensive training program and verifies the families as either foster, foster-to-adopt or adoptive families. At this point, Jonathan’s Place places children from Child Protective Services and the emergency shelter into the care of these foster care and adoption families. [more]
