Through the Safe Place program, Jonathan’s Place works with families and teenagers to prevent runaway or homeless situations by offering a 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency counseling services. We provide prevention and outreach services by offering Safe Place presentations in local high schools and middle schools. Runaway and homeless youth in Dallas County have a new form of community support and connection to crisis services through the National Safe Place program, coordinated by Jonathan’s Place with help from local businesses.
If you’re a teen and looking for a safe place to go, Text ‘SAFE’ with your City or Zip to 69866.
You will then receive the address of the closest Safe Place and a phone number you can call.
When you go to a Safe Place location, employees are trained to provide a safe environment and connection to crisis services. Our staff at Jonathan’s Place staff will work with youth to find shelter and safety.
Jonathan’s Place is Dallas County’s affiliate agency for National Safe Place, a 30-year-old national youth outreach program that educates thousands of young people, families and community agencies every year about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult, threatening situations on their own.
