Jonathan's Place - a “home-style” emergency shelter in Dallas, Texas for abused, abandoned and neglected children and a Foster & Adoptive Family Program.

Once again, The Dallas Foundation has delivered hope and encouragement to the children of Jonathan’s Place. Through the Annie L. Stevens Fund, The Dallas Foundation contributed $25,000 to the Jonathan’s Place Foster & Adoptive Family Program this summer. Jonathan’s Place is honored and proud to have The Dallas Foundation support the children who call Jonathan’s Place “home”.

The Jonathan’s Place Foster & Adoptive Family Program is dedicated to providing foster children with the best, most suitable foster family. The Dallas Foundation’s $25,000 donation comes as our program seeks to increase the services it provides, allowing us to provide unparalleled support for all the families and children in our program. The generous contribution from the Annie L. Sevens Fund of The Dallas Foundation allows us to accomplish our program goals and put a smile on every child’s face. We are eternally thankful for the commitment of people and organizations like The Dallas Foundation that make children a priority.

Focusing on local charities and building the community on a local level, The Dallas Foundation is pledged to making a difference in our community. They first made a difference at Jonathan’s Place in 2004 when they contributed $37,500 toward the expansion of the Jonathan’s Place Emergency Shelter campus in Northeast Dallas County. This initial donation was used toward the construction of a covered play area outside the T. Boone Pickens Youth Cottage, providing the kids with a place to play in all kinds of Texas weather.

The Dallas Foundation, established as a community foundation in 1929, serves as a resource, leader and catalyst for philanthropy by providing donors with flexible means of making gifts to charitable causes that enhance our community. The Dallas foundation awards grants for a broad array of charitable purposes in the areas of the arts, education, early childhood development, environment, health, aging, human and social services and public/civic benefit that improve the well-being of the residents of the City and County of Dallas.
