Jonathan's Place is licensed by the State of Texas as a Foster & Adoptive Family Program. The goal of our program is to provide top notch services to fewer families - or quality over quantity. Each of the families verified through our program have access to the same goods and services available to the children of the Jonathan's Place emergency shelter; thus, alleviating some of the stress new families encounter.
With this program, we recruit potential foster and foster-to-adopt families, conduct thorough training sessions for the families and verify the families as either foster or foster-to-adopt families. At this point, we are able to place children from Child Protective Services and our emergency shelter into the care of these families. We work closely with each family to make sure each placement is a good fit and works out for all involved.
We are particularly looking for families who will foster school age children and teens, large sibling groups, special needs children, ethnically diverse children and children who may need more than the “basic” level of care.
We are the only organization in Dallas County and one of only a few organizations in the State of Texas that has the ability to provide a continuum of care from emergency placement in a shelter to placement with a foster family to, ultimately, adoption.
For more information on our program and to find out about our orientation sessions, please contact Rusty Johnson at (972) 303-5303, ext. 230.
